Natural Woven Materials

Natural Woven Materials-618

Our natural woven products consist predominantly of two materials, Seagrass and Paper Cord.

Seagrass is a dried underwater plant that is hand-woven and coiled by specialist artisans. Paper Cord is recycled paper twisted into strands and interlaced to create a woven surface.

Prolong the quality of your woven items by following proper care guidelines.

General Care

- Dust regularly with a microfibre cloth.

- Clean spills immediately. Spot clean using a clean, damp clotht. Dab and blot the affected area, do not rub or scrub as this may damage the material. Dry immediately and completely with a clean, soft cloth.

- Do not use detergent, soap, bleach or other abrasive chemicals.

- Avoid soaking or excess exposure to water.

- Avoid exposure to excess heat or heated objects.

- Sharp items such as pens and keys should be removed from pockets and not come in contact with woven fibres. Contact with sharp or abrasive objects can cause damage to the fibres and chipping/peeling of if there is a painted finish.

- Avoid using woven baskets to carry heavy items. Prolonged stress on the fibres can result in permanent stretching and indentation.

Important Considerations

- Speak with your Designer to ensure the products selected are suitable for your specific environment as well as discuss the level of maintenance that will be needed.

- As these items are hand-crafted using artisanal techniques, every product is unique.

- Seagrass is a natural fibre and minor freying on the strands is a natural and expected characteristic of this material.

- Natural fibres can biodegrade if consistently exposed to water or high humidity environments. Never place natural woven fibres outdoors or in alfresco areas.
